ALL INDIA COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS, VET

All India Common Entrance Examinations (AICEE) is an entrance exam conducted for the admission in the first year degree course in Bachelor of veterinary Science and animal husbandry. The entrance exam is conducted by the veterinary council of India. The veterinary council of India is a body that was framed by a parliamentary act. The act was called Indian veterinary Act. It was framed in the year 1984.This act was basically framed to regulate veterinary education as well as veterinary practice in India. The Act has extended to almost all the states of India except Tamil Nadu and J&K. The act prohibits inexperienced people from practicing. An only person who possesses recognized veterinary qualification is allowed to practice.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate should have passed higher secondary examinations or its equivalent from any educational board of India. Candidates should qualify these exams with at least 50% in aggregate in the subjects. The candidate should have Physics, Chemistry and Biology and any other elective subject. Along with that, English should be the core subject. The standard of the English should not be less than that prescribed by the NCERT or prescribed by the Veterinary council of India for the minimum standard for veterinary educations.

Selection procedure:

The candidates are selected according to the rank earned in the exams and are then called for the counseling, where they are given the choice of various colleges. The candidate with lower rank is given more preferences.

•    Last date of form distribution: first week of January
•    Date of exam: First week of June
