Calcutta University Mass Com. 2009
A recent study has divulged the frequency of opting for studies in MASS COMMUNICATION courses among youth in Calcutta. This is the academic study of various means by which an individual relays information through mass media to a large segment of population at the same time. Usually this study is related to newspapers, magazine publishing, radio, television and film; as these are used both for determination of news and for advertising and what could be the better option other than Calcutta University.
Eligibility Criteria
A student opting for this course under Calcutta University must be a resident of Calcutta for five years or more. It is a strictly Post Graduate course offered under the concerned university. Interested candidates should have a total aggregate mark of 55% and a minimum of 60% in English, as the lectures are largely in English. The affiliations of boards in the higher studies of candidates may be ISCE, CBSE or WBHS boards.
Selection Procedure
The concerned authorities conduct a written examination on a specified date. Students are short listed on their marks according to the seats available in the university. The candidates are called in for a grilling interview by the interview panel appointed by the university. The final appointment list is shortly brought out. If some one leaves, which occurs seldom for the huge craze of the course among students, a second list for admission is published, and the same procedure follows.
