IAF Pilots, 2009
Indian Air Force (IAF) invites all Indian Candidates to apply for the SSC Course for Helicopter Pilots in Flying Branch. The Government of India conducts this Training for providing the best candidates, who can serve the society as well as nation with all his endeavors. Courses commence twice every year, one in the month of January and other in the month of July. The duration of this course at Air Force Academy is 72 weeks.
Physical Requirements
For Male
• Height: 162.5 cms
• Leg Length: should lie in between 99cms and 128 cms.
• Chest: at the time of full expansion, Chest should be at least 82cms with 5cms expansion.
For Female
• Height: 162.5 cms
• Leg Length: should lie in between 99 cms and 120 cms.
Eligibility Criteria
• Candidates must be aged between 19 to 23 years.
• Candidates must have done their Graduation in any of the following discipline: 3 years BSc (Maths/Physics), 4 years BE and 3 years BSc (General) with Maths and Physics.
• Candidates must not have disqualified in INS-B/ PAB Test conducted earlier.
• Candidates should not be suspended in the Flying Training earlier.
• NOTE: candidates with glasses and who are Night/ Color blind are not eligible for this course.
Selection Procedure:
Selection is based on the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test. Candidates who get selected in the PAB Test have to go through a series of other Tests like Intelligence Test, Group Test, Psychological Test and Interview. Candidates, who clear all the necessary requirements for the selection, then go for Physical Fitness Test.
Important Dates
• Entrance exam i.e. Pilot Aptitude Battery (PAB) Test is conducted in the month of January/February.
