JSS Dental College and Hospital
JSS Dental College and Hospital was founded in 1986-87 in the beautiful city of Mysore and is known for providing dental education to the desiring students. The Dental Council of India as well as the Government of India has accredited the College. The College receives its affiliation from JSS University i.e. Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University. The College which is situated in the campus of JSS Medical Institutions has dedicated a space of five acres to its dental department. The hostel is divided into separate blocks for boys and girls.
Courses Offered
• The College provides a B.D.S i.e. Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree which takes a period of five years, the academic session starting from August every year.
• The College also provides a M.D.S. i.e. Master of Dental Surgery degree which takes a period of three years, the academic session starting from June every year.
Eligibility Criteria
• For B.D.S. degree course, the candidate should have passed 10+2 level examination with Biology, Chemistry and Physics scoring at least 50% in aggregate and also 50% in English as a primary language.
• For M.D.S degree course, the candidate should have a degree in B.D.S with a minimum of 50% score in any institution which is accredited by the Dental Council of India.
Selection procedure
Students are selected on the basis of an Entrance Test which is held in the month of April/May every year. The College has reserved 80% of their seats for selecting students on the basis of merit with remaining 20% to be occupied by management quota.
