National Defence Academy And Naval Academy Examination (I)
The NDA exam or better known as National Defence Academy Entrance Exam is held for the recruitment of students to army, navy and air force wings of the NDA. This exam is held two times a year, in April and September. The exam is usually conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
The service of one’s choice will be given to the candidate only if he secures a good rank in the merit list. There is a division in the academics and it is for the candidates to choose their preferred academics, National Defence Academy or Naval Academy which is the executive branch. If a candidate chooses the NDA, then he needs to specify his preferred wing, be it the army, navy or air-force followed by his preference of the Naval Academy. But if he gives preference to the executive branch, he has to follow it with the three wings of NDA first.
NDA gives you a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science or Computer Science after completion of your training. If you complete this and wish to continue, you will be given the opportunity to do post graduation in the stream of engineering of your choice from one of the best technical colleges in India. The Indian Army has set up and is successfully running the most respected institutions in the country which covers a wide range of subjects.
Eligibility
There is however a few criteria to fulfil before one can take this exam. The candidate must be a citizen of India. He should be 16 ½ years minimum and not more than 19 years in order to qualify for this exam. The candidate should be unmarried and has to be a male. Infact the candidate cannot marry until and unless he has completed the three years of training. They should be 10+2 pass-outs from the recognized educational boards of this country.
Selection Procedure
Selection of the candidates is done through NDA & NA Examination which is conducted by UPSC.

The UPSC conducted the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination on 30th of August in 2009.
