National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II)

If you are a person looking for a career in the armed forces, willing to spend your life in service to the nation then you should start out early and join the National Defense Academy or the Naval Academy immediately after passing your high school. The NDA is the most elite army graduating institution in India and legendary officers of the Indian Army and the Indian Navy have passed out from here. To get a chance to prove your worth in the NDA you need to get through the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission every year. In reality the NDA does indeed separate the men from the boys. It prepares you to lead a life of courage and discipline.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria to sit in the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination are as follows-
• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• At the time of sitting for the examination the candidate must be between 16 and 19 years old.
• Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
• For the Army wing of the National Defense Academy the candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from any Board recognized by the government.
• For the Naval and Air Force wing of the NDA the candidate must have passed 10+2 with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Selection Procedure

An examination is conducted by UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission for selecting candidates for this academy. The selected are then called for SSB and Personal Interview.
