NEST, 2009
For admission into five year M.Sc. integrated programme in NISER, Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CBS, Mumbai, the candidates have to take National Entrance Screening Test. The admission to the above mentioned institutes will be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the screening test. These two institutes are set by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. The motive of these institutions is to impart quality science education to the would-to-be future scientists.
Eligibility Criteria
• In General and OBC category, candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October, 1984 are eligible for applying.
• SC, ST and PD candidates are given a relaxation of five years in the age limit.
• The candidates should have got atleast 60% marks in 10th and 12th standard.
• A relaxation of 5% in 10th and 12th standard marks is given to SC, ST and PD candidates.
• The candidates should have passed their 12th standard in 2007, 2008 or they should be appearing for it in 2009.
Selection procedure
The candidates must appear in NEST 2009 which will be conducted by NISER, Bhubaneswar. On the basis of performance in Nest 2009, candidates will be short-listed. The name of the candidates granted admission will be declared on the website of both the Institutes.
