Veterinary Entrance Exam, Joint Entrance Examination in Orissa
Veterinary entrance examination is held by Joint Entrance Examination Council of the state of Orissa. This entrance examination provides admission in various Government veterinary colleges in Orissa. Applicants are also invited to give this examination from other states such as West Bengal, and Bihar. This entrance exam is held on a yearly basis. This exam is considered as one of the toughest exam in India.
Eligibility Criteria
• Aspirants should belong to Indian nationality.
• He or she must have a minimum of 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent exam held in India.
• Aspirants should have attained a minimum age of seventeen and a half years and should not have crossed a maximum of 24 years as on the date of examination.
• Domicile aspirants are given advantageous position in this examination.
Selection Procedure
Those aspirants who have passed this written entrance examination are called for special personal counseling held by special councilor at the event of selection of aspirants. This counseling is equivalent to personal interview. A special quota of seats are reserved for backward classes, schedule cast and schedule tribe. There are seats reserved for military personal and also a few number of seats for physically challenged people. Aspirants are then admitted after counseling in various colleges depending upon their over all marks.
