Veterinary Entrance Examination, Assam

Veterinary entrance examination is taken on an annual basis in the state of Assam. The state of Assam has a well developed system of taking this examination in the state level. There are two government based colleges in Assam dedicated to building of various veterinary doctors. The entrance examination taken by this state is considered as one of the toughest entrance examination for over 225 seats.

Eligibility Criteria

•    Aspirants should be a citizen of India but should not belong to the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
•    Aspirants from the state of Tripura, and Mizoram also appear in this exam since their state have no government college which can take students for the admission.
•    He or she should not have crossed 24 years of age and should not be below 17 years as on the date of examination.
•    Applicants must also secure a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Higher Secondary examination.

Selection Procedure

Aspirants have to appear for a written entrance examination. Only after passing through the exam are they called for a personal interview under which are they given admission in various colleges of the state. Seats are reserved for Scheduled tribes, scheduled castes and other backward classes. Domicile applicants are given special advantage during the admission process. Veterinary aspirants have to further give an entrance exam for attainment of master’s degrees in theses colleges.

•    Proposed date of examination- Last week of May
•    Proposed date of result- Mid week of July
