Veterinary Entrance examination in Madras University
Veterinary Entrance examination is taken annually by Madras University. This examination is taken by a special board under Madras University which conducts the whole affair. Madras University has two known veterinary colleges associated with it. Tamil Nadu is lucky to have such a dedicated panel to look after the development of veterinary science in India. These two government college are considered as the best in the state compared to other private veterinary colleges of the state.
Eligibility Criteria
• Aspirants should be over 18 years of age as on 31st of December of the previous year of examination and should not have crossed 23 years as on the same date.
• He or she should be an Indian citizen.
• Applicants should have attained a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their Higher Secondary Examination or any of its equivalent exams.
• Domicile status plays a crucial role in the examination as they are given preferential status like all other states.
Selection Procedure
Applicants have to give a written entrance examination after the selection of which they are called for personal interview. Selection in this exam is based on the combined marks of the entire stage covering the marks of both interview and exam. Seats are also reserved under “Reservation quota”, for scheduled castes and scheduled tribe aspirants and other backward castes as per the recently passed law by the Indian Parliament.
